How to set it up

  1. Match the opening hoursIt starts with a Wednesday evening and two Saturday shifts, for two weeks. Change them to your hours.
  2. Say what to expectPut how check-out works and who to ask in the description.
  3. Send the linkShare it with your members. Nobody needs an account.
  4. Keep it goingEvery two weeks, start a new sheet from this template so the shifts are dated.

What helps

  • Pair a new volunteer with somebody who knows the shelves.
  • Saturday mornings are usually busiest. Put the most people there.
  • A list of people with a free account keeps track of who's covered what, so it isn't always the same few.
  • If a shift is empty two days out, “Tell people something” reaches every volunteer on the sheet.

Something to send with the link
