School play crew sign-up sheet
Backstage jobs, claimed in advance.
A school play volunteer sign-up sheet for everything that happens off stage, from building the set to the front of house on the night. Say how many people each job needs, and parents claim the ones they'd enjoy.

How to set it up
- List the jobsIt starts with the usual crew jobs. Change how many each needs, and add any your show has, like a stage manager or a photographer.
- Add the datesPut the rehearsal and show dates in the description, and when each kind of job is needed.
- Send the linkShare it with the cast's families. Nobody needs an account to sign up.
- Keep everyone in the loop“Tell people something” on your private link emails every volunteer who left an address, which is handy for a change of rehearsal.
What helps
- Building and painting usually happen on a weekend or two before the show. Say which, so people know what they're signing up for.
- Ask people with a useful skill, like sewing, carpentry or sound, to say so in their note.
- Front of house needs the most people on the night: tickets, programs, and showing people to their seats.
- After the show, “Make a copy” starts next year's crew sheet with the same jobs and nobody on it.
Something to send with the link
Copy it into a text, an email or the group chat, change what you like, and paste your link at the end.
Questions people ask
- Can someone help with more than one job?
- Yes. They can pick several rows at once, unless you turn on “One sign-up each”.
- Can I add jobs later?
- Yes. From your private link you can add jobs, rename them, change how many people they need, or take them off. Anyone on a job you take off gets an email, if they left an address.
- Who sees the volunteers' notes?
- Only you and anybody helping you run the page.
