How to set it up

  1. Set the morningThe times run from 10:00 to noon in fifteen minutes, one person each. Change the day, the hours or the length to suit you.
  2. Say wherePut your office, a room, or a video link as plain text in “Where”. It goes on the sheet and into each calendar file.
  3. Send the linkShare it with your team, your class or whoever needs your time. Nobody needs an account.
  4. Read the notesYour private link shows who booked each time and what they'd like to cover, so you can prepare.

What helps

  • Ask people to say what they'd like to cover in the note. Notes are only shown to you.
  • Leave a gap mid-morning by taking a time off from your private link once it's made.
  • “One sign-up each” is on, so nobody books the whole morning. Turn it off if people need longer.
  • For office hours every week, start a new sheet from this template each week so the date is right.

Something to send with the link

Copy it into a text, an email or the group chat, change what you like, and paste your link at the end.

Questions people ask

Can someone book two times in a row?
Not while “One sign-up each” is on, which this template turns on. Turn it off under “Change how people sign up” if some conversations need longer.
Can I use a video call instead of a room?
Yes. Put the call's address in “Where” as plain text. Links on the page aren't clickable, which keeps it safe to share, but people can copy it.
What happens when somebody cancels?
Their time opens up for somebody else right away, and if you left your email, it's in that day's 6 pm summary.
