Bake sale sign-up sheet

Who's baking what, and what's still needed.

A bake sale sign-up sheet with cookies, brownies, cupcakes and something for everyone, plus helpers for the table. People pick what they'll bake, the counts show what's short, and you don't end up with six pans of brownies and no cupcakes.

How to set it up

  1. Check the listIt starts with the bake sale staples, a gluten-free row and helpers. Change the counts to suit how big the sale is.
  2. Add the detailsPut the date, the time, where to drop baking off, and the prices in the description, along with what the money is for.
  3. Send the linkShare it a couple of weeks ahead. Nobody needs an account to sign up.
  4. Balance the tableYour private link shows what's full and what's short. If one row lags, share the link again and say so.

What helps

  • Ask bakers to label every item with what's in it. People with allergies will buy if they can see what they're getting.
  • Individually wrapped portions sell faster and are easier to price than a whole cake.
  • Many schools ask for nut-free baking. Check yours, and put it in the description.
  • A float of small change and a sign for paying by card or phone, if you take them, saves turning people away.
  • Price a few things at a dollar or two. Children with a little spending money are a lot of your customers.

Something to send with the link

Copy it into a text, an email or the group chat, change what you like, and paste your link at the end.

We're holding a bake sale, and we need bakers and a few helpers.

Pick what you'd like to bake, or a time at the table, on the sheet below. Each row has a count, so we'll get a good spread. You don't need an account.

Here's the sheet:

Questions people ask

Can someone bake more than one thing?
Yes. They can pick several rows at once, unless you turn on “One sign-up each”.
Can helpers at the table pick a time?
On this layout every row is a thing to bring or do, without a time. If you'd like helpers to pick shifts, make a second sheet with the shifts layout for the table.
Can I see what everyone is baking?
Your private link shows every row, who took it and their note. Notes are only shown to you, so ask bakers to say there what they're making.
