How to set it up
- Set the days you're awayIt starts with a morning and evening visit, Friday to Tuesday. Change the days and times to your trip and your pets' routine.
- Keep the details privateLeave the address, the key and the alarm code off the page. Everyone is asked for an email so you can send them privately.
- Send the linkShare it with the friends and neighbours who've offered. Nobody needs an account.
- Send the instructionsUse “Tell people something” on your private link to email everyone the key, the feeding instructions and the vet's number.
What helps
- Write the routine down once: how much food, which bowl, any medicine, where the litter is. It goes in the email, not on the page.
- A dog needs more visits than a cat. Add a midday row if yours does.
- Leave the vet's number and an emergency contact in the email you send.
- The page shows everyone's names, so neighbours can see who's on the next visit and hand over the key.
Something to send with the link
Copy it into a text, an email or the group chat, change what you like, and paste your link at the end.
Questions people ask
- How do I send the key details privately?
- Everyone who signs up is asked for an email. Use “Tell people something” on your private link to send them the details. Only you and anybody helping you run the page see the addresses.
- Can one person take every visit?
- Yes. They can pick as many as they like, unless you turn on “One sign-up each”.
- Do sitters get a reminder?
- Each one gets a confirmation with a calendar file for every visit, so they're on their phone.
